MEDIATOR CALLED IN
For Talks between MLS, players union
NEW YORK -- A mediator has been called in to help with the stalled Collective Bargaining Agreement talks next week between Major League Soccer and the MLS players union, the league said Friday.
MLS and the union have accepted the invitation of George H. Cohen, the director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) to serve as a mediator during the negotiations.
The next set of talks will take place in Washington, D.C.
The CBA agreement expired Jan. 31. The sides agreed twice to push the deadline back, the last time to Feb. 25.
