E. Carolina's Cordero is women's Player of the Week

East Carolina junior goalkeeper Christiane Cordero has been named the Soccer News Net Women's College Player of the Week for the week ending October 7.
Cordero (Valencia, Calif.) posted two shutouts over the weekend, making 19 saves while playing 200 minutes.
Against Houston on Friday, she stopped all seven shots she faced in a 3-0 victory. She followed that with a career-best 12 saves against Rice in a double-overtime scoreless tie Sunday.
In six league games, Cordero has allowed just two goals (both to league-leaders Memphis) and has recorded five shutouts and 38 saves posting a 0.33 goals against average. Cordero has started all 52 games played in goal for the Pirates, logging 238 saves with 14 shutouts.
