Sonic wins with 1-0 shutout over Chattanooga
SAN DIEGO---Sonic FC Lehigh Valley used a stifling defense and a 78th minute goal by Tucker Sandercock to defeat Chattanooga FC 1-0 and capture the National Premier Soccer League Championship on Sunday at Del Norte High School.
After a fairly even game, with both teams creating some good chances, and both goalkeepers, NPSL ‘keeper of the year Charlie Sales of Sonic and CFC’s Greg Hartley, making some big saves, the Pennsylvania team finally broke through when Sandercock got his head on an inswinging corner kick and directed it into the back of the net.
