November 30, 2009 NTSSA $$$ DEADLINE CLOSING Grant requests due by 5 p.m.
The annual rush for grant money from the North Texas State Soccer Association will promptly draw to a close Tuesday afternoon when the deadline for grant submission passes at 5 p.m., Dec. 1. All grant submissions must be in the NTS office by that time.
Submitters must be a member of NTSSA and their requests must have an official cover sheet from the association and follow guidelines specified in the NTS instruction sheet. This is no guaranteed funding grab. The requests are carefully considered. A lot more requests are made than funds are available, so the better worded and constructed requests have a better chance of actually receiving monies.
In the overview that describes the grant process, the official wording from NTS says the mission of the North Texas Soccer Development Grants Program (hereinafter referred to as the “NTS Grants Program”) is to fund projects designed for the long-term growth of the game in support of the United States Soccer Federation’s, the United States Youth Soccer Association’s, the United States Amateur Soccer Association’s, and the North Texas State Soccer Association’s shared vision to make soccer a preeminent sport, recognized for excellence in participation, spectator appeal, competition, and gender equity.
The overview also states that, “Any program or activity that advances or develops the sport of soccer within the geographic area served by North Texas Soccer, and for which a proposal is filed following these grant making policies and procedures, is eligible to be considered for a grant from the NTS Grants Program. There is no limit on the size of a grant that may be requested. An applicant is defined as a North Texas Soccer Member Association, currently in good standing.”
The full overview, coversheet and application instructions can be downloaded online from the Association’s website at: www.ntxsoccer.com.
