RANGERS SURVIVE CHARGERS SCARE Playoff teams whittled down in weekend play
The Jesuit Rangers, top-ranked 5A boys’ team, got a dose of truth serum Friday when the upset-minded Keller Central Chargers held a 2-1 edge well into the second half and had the Rangers tied up 2-2 until just 75 seconds were left in the game. That’s when Alexis Reyes threaded a thunderbolt shot between Central goalie Blake Jett and the near post on the dribble about 12 yards out to the left of the post. He got a perfectly weighted pass from Ranger midfielder Ian Kalis in the middle to his right flank position. He took a couple of steps and fired in the game-winner in a 3-2 result for Jesuit. HIGH SCHOOL RANKINGS New leaders in both girls' poll
New poll leaders are popping out in the girls' rankings as the season winds down. With Richardson Pearce knocking off previously top-ranked The Colony, McKinney assumed top ranking in 4A. Allen also took a leap over Coppell and Hebron in the 5A girls' polls. Complete story
