Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXIII reveals 'Super' field
Signs that soccer is ramping up for 2012 are everywhere, but nothing really whets the North Texas soccer fans appetite for the Beautiful Game like the annual Dallas Cup (April 1—April 8, 2012). Now the Cup’s Executive Director Gordon Jago and Tournament Manager Randy Jones announced that the field for the Gordon Jago Super Group is finally filled. At the same time, Jago opined that it is, “Without a doubt The Strongest Super Group since I joined Dallas Cup in 2002.”

The last time Everton graced the Dallas Cup ranks, the U14 team was powered by a youngster by the name of Wayne Rooney. That was 1999 and Rooney is now a legend in the English Premier League. That year in 1999, Everton was not the Dallas Cup U14 Champion in 1999. Now Everton is returning in 2012 and will be gunning for the Gordon Jago Super Group Championship of the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup XXXIII.

The last North Texas State Soccer Association-sponsored tournament of the summer, the Dr. Pepper Fair Play wraps up Sunday at Lewisville’s Chinn Chapel and Rail Road complexes. Finals will run from noon until 2 p.m., August 21.

The FC Dallas U-15s also fell on Sunday, the final day of the GA Cup, losing the third place match to Seattle Sounders FC by a score of 5-2. Dallas forward Santiago Agudelo Salazar bagged a late brace in the match against U-15 Golden Glove winner Paul Christensen of Seattle.

FRISCO, Texas – The FC Dallas U-17s lost their first match of the Generation adidas Cup in the final match of the tournament Sunday morning when they fell to the LA Galaxy 2-0 on Field 11 at Pizza Hut Park. The Galaxy won the championship match off of goals by Sebastian Velasquez and Mario Rodriguez.
