While the Dallas Texans won more North Texas State girls' titles Sunday than any other club, the trophy count was much more evenly distributed than the boys, which saw a 6-1 domination by the Texans. The Texans' girls counted three titles when the action quieted down, followed by two for Solar and a championship each for Sting and D'Feeters at Richland College.

Texans take six of seven boys' titles
There is a reason the Dallas Texans are the number one-ranked boys club in the USA and the proof was domination in the North Texas boys' state cup Sunday at Richland College. The Dallas Texans won all but one of seven age groups, with the U-16 Solar 92 boys making the lone exception in a spirited 2-0 win over River Plate. River Plate upset the Dallas Texans Red 92 in a Saturday semifinal game to reach the finals, but couldn't duplicate the win in the title game.

State Cup finals today at Richland
Muggy overcast skies were made tolerable by a constant brisk breeze Saturday as the North Texas State Cup worked through its semifinal round at Richland College. Now the climax is at hand, with the championship round scheduled Sunday, with perfect weather scheduled.
Regardless the weather, the passion of the day showed through from beginning to end.

The State Cup action continues Saturday at Richland College, featuring semfinal games for U-11--U17 boys and U-11--U-17 girls. The lone exception is the U-12 boys, which goes straight to the Championship match at 10 a.m.Sunday, May 11, at Field 3.

Texas A&M goalkeeper goalkeeper Kristiin Arnold and forward Alyssa Mautz will train with the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team from May 12-27. They are among 26 players who will head to Clemson, S.C. to practice under coach Tony DiCicco.

May is a big month for tournaments in North Texas, with 24 available. Many of these tournaments are still open for teams, but time is very short to enter for several of the biggest tournaments.

U-11---U-17 round robin action May 3-4
The North Texas State Soccer Association State Cup tournament starts next week for ages U-11 through U-17 at Richland College and the University of Texas at Dallas. The round-robin action takes place May 3-4, while the semifinals and finals finish up May 10-11.
Local soccer clubs FC Dallas, plus the Dallas Texans, Solar FC and Andromeda SC have joined the U.S. Development Academy as it looks to its second year of operation. No Texas clubs were involved in the first year, which included 63 clubs across the nation.

Championship Sunday wraps up Dallas Cup
The Texans Red of Houston rolled up the first title of Championship Sunday, dispatching Rampage Blue of California 2-0 for the U-16 title of Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup XXIX at Pizza Hut Park Stadium.
It wasn’t the big burly bodies that powered in the scores, but the tiny terror Marcus Escobar that put in a goal in each half, in the 28th and 75th minutes, respectively.

Tigres captured the U-17 Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup XXIX Championship Sunday with a 2-1 comeback win over a tough Tulsa S.C. team at Pizza Hut Park Stadium. Momentum is building for this Tigres team, since many of these players also played for the U-16 team last year that won its age division at Dallas Cup.
