LAS CRUCES, N.M. – North Texas soccer hit the road over the weekend, but still rolled with success. The Mean Green defeated Jacksonville State 2-0 Sunday afternoon to finish the Hotel Encanto Aggie Classic and nab the program’s first 4-0 record since 2007.

The clamp-down defense of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock (UALR) eight-seededTrojans snuffed UNT's title hopes at the conference semifinal level, 1-0.

BOCA RATON, FL--- Area colleges struggled in their respective conference tournaments Wednesday, but not the University of North Texas. The Mean Green soccer team could not have asked for a better first day of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. Moments after watching the No. 1 seed FIU Golden Panthers get upset by the University of Arkansas-Little Rock (UALR) in overtime, the Mean Green went out and took care of their own business by defeating Middle Tennessee 2-1 and move on to the semi-finals for the 10th straight season.

UNT slips to 4th seed in Sun Belt Tourney
DENVER, CO -– The Mean Green’s recent lack of scoring has pushed the team down in seeding for the Sun Belt Tournament. The most recent example was Saturday’s 1-0 loss to the Denver Pioneers on a cold field in the mile-high city. UNT will now enter the Sun Belt Tournament as the fourth seed after being shutout for a third straight game.

MURFRESSBORO, TN– The Mean Green soccer team remained alone in first place in the Sun Belt Conference after battling the Middle Tennessee State to a 0-0 double-overtime draw Friday evening.
North Texas (11-4-2, 7-0-2) outshot the Blue Raiders 17-8 and 8-7 shots on goal but was unable to push a shot across in 110 minutes of play.

The Mean Green soccer team showed why their home field is a fortress, blanking Troy 2-0 Sunday for their eighth win against just one defeat at North Texas Soccer Field. Forward Michelle Young continued her sensational freshman campaign with two goals, giving her a team-leading eight on the season.

DENTON, TX – On a festive chilly night that belonged to seniors Kendall Juett, Kelli Lunsford and Lauren Shockey, the Mean Green made sure to send them out in style. North Texas sophomore forward Kelsey Perlman scored two goals and freshman midfielder Ellen Scarfone added another as the Mean Green soccer team ran their unbeaten streak to five games with a 3-0 win over the South Alabama Jaguars Friday evening.

BOCA RATON, FL—There is nothing like a weekend trip to Florida to set the mind and body straight, even if the road has not been kindest place for UNT. The Mean Green soccer team earned their first road victory of the season Friday evening with a 2-0 shutout against the Florida Atlantic Owls in Boca Raton, Florida. For North Texas it was their third straight shutout and fifth of the season. The Mean Green is also now riding a season-high three game win streak.

DENTON, TX---The Mean Green finally found some offense after three straight shutout losses and couldn’t have picked a better time to do so. Opening Sun Belt Conference play at home, UNT blanked Louisiana-Lafayette 2-0.

CINCINNATI, OH – The Mean Green has hit a dry spell this season, perfectly displayed in the team’s 1-0 loss to Xavier. Despite outshooting the Musketeers 18-5 and 8-4 SOG, the UNT was plagued by its inability to push one goal across and dropped a third straight contest by a score of 1-0 Sunday afternoon.

Loss follows big win Friday night
DENTON, TX – The Mean Green battled hard Friday night to award coach John Hedlund his 200th victory in an exciting 2-1 win over Baylor University at UNT’s field. But coming back 11 hours later to host the Prairie View A&M Panthers was too much to ask after playing the Bears during a rainy downpour Friday. Hedlund did not see victory 201 Saturday as Prairie View spun a 1-0 upset.

DENTON, Texas – The continuous rain Friday night was a powerful annoyance for players and fans alike. But the moisture didn’t stop a fierce soccer battle from breaking out. Mean Green freshman Michelle Young proved to be the difference, hitting for a brace, her first multi-goal game in fueling the home team Mean Green to a 2-1 victory. The win was also a milestone for UNT coach John Hedlund, who recorded his 200th victory in front of over 500 rain-soaked fans.
