LUBBOCK, TX - Jessica Fuston scored on a corner kick from Jaelene Hinkle in the third minute to propel the Texas Tech soccer team over Missouri for the first time since 2006, in front of 1,426 fans at the John Walker Soccer Complex. There is nothing like the leverage of the first goal in soccer to find the path to victory and the Red Raiders rode it for nearly 87 minutes to the end of the game.

TUSCON, AZ --- Texas Tech continued to gain momentum, even in the face of a scoreless tie at Arizona in the Cats Classic at Mulcahy Stadium in Tuscon. With that tie, the Red Raiders collected its sixth shutout of the season and won the tournament with two shutouts and five goals in its first game Friday.

Texas Tech freshman forward Jessica Fuston became the first Red Raider to win one of the Big 12 Conference’s top postseason awards as she was named the 2010 Big 12 Rookie of the Year. Fuston and junior defender Whitney Sharpe were both selected All-Big 12 second team, while garnering Big 12 All-Newcomer team honors as well. All awards were voted on by the league coaches.
