TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE FOR SMU
Early goals carry Zips, 3-2
DALLAS, TX – Too little, too late was the story for the SMU men’s soccer team, 3-2 losers to the 10th-ranked Akron Zips Sunday night in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Westcott Field. The Mustangs roared back on goals from redshirt freshman Tyler Engel and senior Arthur Ivo after falling behind 3-0, but the rally ran out of time.

As the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship sixth seed, the SMU men's soccer team (13-6-1) gets a first-round bye. The Mustangs host a second round game Sunday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m., against the winner of the Akron/Northwestern first round matchup.

Earn C-USA Tourney title shot Sunday
The SMU men's soccer team picked up momentum, shutting out No. 1 C-USA seed South Carolina, 1-0, in the semifinals of the Conference USA Championship Friday night at Hurricane Stadium. The result puts the Mustangs in the C-USA Championship match on Sunday at 1 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. With the win, SMU is now 12-6-1.

IVO HAT TRICK POWERS SMU
Mustangs nip Marshall 4-3; advance to semis
TULSA, OK --- Senior Arthur Ivo scored his first career hat trick as the SMU men's soccer team defeated Marshall, 4-3, Wednesday night in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Championship at Hurricane Stadium. With the win, the Mustangs are now 11-6-1 on the season.

SMU SOCCER WOMEN HONORED
Four picked to All-Conference teams
IRVING, TX – Four SMU women’s soccer players were selected to various All-Conference teams today by the league’s 12 coaches. Junior Mallory Baum and Kaitlyn Eidson headline the list as they were named to the All-Conference First Team. Sophomore Courtney Smith was a third team selection, while Rikki Clarke was named to the All-Freshmen team.

SMU TO FACE THUNDERING HERD
Mustangs open C-USA Tourney Wednesday
DALLAS, TX --- In a season with heightened expectations the SMU Mustang men have had to learn to live with some disappointments. But SMU Head Coach Tim McClements knows the team can put the disappointments in the rear-view mirror by winning the C-USA Tournament being played Tulsa, OK in Hurricane Stadium. The first step for the SMU men starts Wednesday in their conference-opening game against Marshall (5 p.m., CT).
